The French rugby club, Provins returned to South Africa after their visit two years ago, this time donating 330 kilograms of clothing to struggling non-governmental organisations (NGO).

The Provins Rugby Club visited South Africa two years ago and identified a huge need for clothing among NGOs within South Africa. That is why they started to host various fundraisers in France with the goal to revisit South Africa and help some of the needy organisations.

According to a Krugersdorp Rotary Ann, Christine Vaughan who organised the visit, the boys from Provins decided to help three NGOs on the West Rand, one of them being Rainbow Daycare Centre in Randfontein.

"We as Rotary Anns communicated with the rugby club and we established that they want to donate the clothing that they gathered back home (France) to Rainbow Daycare Centre, Krugersdorp Child Welfare and Imbileko Ke Thari Centre in Kagiso," says Christine.

The whole Provins Rugby Club as well as some of these boys' parents visited Rainbow Daycare Centre on 13 July to hand over some of the 330 kilograms of clothing that they had collected.

During their visit, the boys from Provins got to spend some time with the disabled children at Rainbow Daycare Centre and truly enjoyed the occasion.

The project manager at Rainbow Daycare, Tatum Solomons, as well as all her staff members welcomed the French rugby squad with open arms.

"For us at Rainbow, it is truly an honour to be part of such a humbling experience.

"I salute these boys for going back to France with the goal to revisit South Africa to assist organisations such as Rainbow Daycare Centre. This donation really means a lot to us and will help us tremendously during the winter months ahead," says Tatum.
